RAP Technologies (RAPTECH) was founded almost a decade ago. Today, we are a leading water pump solutions company with our head office based in Johannesburg, with branches and distributors throughout South Africa.
The foundation of our work is a service experience, from the first time our customers interact with our sales staff or our website, in between with our administration staff and afterwards with our after-sales customer service.
RAPTECH commenced business in 2008 by father and son Carl & Carl Jnr Mulock Houwer amid humble beginnings with a small rented space in Randfontein.
What started as a tiny family business, with Rovatti appointing RAP as a South African agent, has since ballooned into a larger business. Today we are the sole distributor of the largest pump manufacturer in China – Leo, and additional foreign pump brands which include Omega for deep well, sewage, slurry, pressure boosting pumping applications and Toshiba for inverters and soft starters.
Our experience in understanding water pump solutions allowed us to create a strong agency network in South Africa and the launch of our RAPTECH Cape branch in George South Africa. Over the last decade we have tripled our warehousing capacity to serve expanded market conditions in all sectors. Our workshop has computerized testing facilities to enable performance testing and certification of repairs and new equipment. We have commenced building our second workshop in Johannesburg, which will double our existing workshop facilities and we are in the process to launch similar facilities at our branch.
We are 50 people at RAP branches. The youngest is 24 years old. The oldest 75 – the founder. We believe working with the right people makes for a successful company.

Education and Training
We support our staff and customers with customized training on our product range. We also include visits to the overseas production facilities of our international brands. Not only does it foster a deeper understanding of each product but creates an opportunity to experience and participate in unique cultures.
